Science Night!

Science Night is Back this year!

Tuesday, May 19th

Tickets are on sale from  May 4th through May 15th

The cost is $4 per students.

Kindergarten through 2nd grade will run from 5:30 to 6:30

3rd through 5th grade will run from 6:45 to 7:45.

Tentative Stations include:
1.  Balloon rocket races to understand Newton's Laws of Motion by building and launching balloon rockets.
2. Solids or liquid in order to understand the states of matter.
3. Ocean acidification in order to understand the problem of our coral reef and ocean hard-bodied organism's     
    decline because of our every day living.
4. Understanding the phases of the moon by making a wheel showing the eight phases.

Virtual Instruction Program

Virtual Instruction Program

Florida Statute 1002.45 requires Florida school districts to offer a virtual instruction program to students in grades K-12.  A virtual instruction program offers students a flexible option to attend a public school using distance and online learning technologies.  The enrollment window for Broward County students entering grades 6 through 12 opens April 24th and closes September 18th, 2015.  Enrollment for students entering grades K-5 opens April 24th and closes July 24th, 2015.  Students must meet criteria to qualify for enrollment.  More information about virtual instruction program options, including enrollment criteria, can be obtained online at www.bved.netor by calling Broward Virtual School at 754-321-6050.

Mon-Thursday 8:30 to 3:00 pm for Summer.

Current Immunization-Florida form

Current physical- Florida form

2 proofs of residence

One section A and One from section B

GRADES 1-5- report Card showing grade level promotion

All documents must be in order for a successful registration!

Florida Learning Committee

The Department of Education is issuing a call for Floridians to serve on the newly established Keep Florida Learning Committee.
 
The Keep Florida Learning Committee will review further deregulation opportunities for the school system; review instructional material review processes used by school boards; identify strategies to increase parental involvement; and review the implementation of the Florida Standards and the Florida Standards Assessment over the next year.
 
All Floridians interested in serving on the committee are encouraged to submit an online application to the DOE. To apply, visit  http://www.fldoe.org/about-us/fsacommittee.stml. Interested Floridians have until January 31, 2015, to submit their application. The first meeting will be an organizational conference call and will take place in March. Committee members will be announced in February.
 
The committee will be comprised of 11 members, including the Commissioner of Education, legislators, teachers, superintendents, school board members, higher education representatives, and members of the public.
